GANGLION

ganglGanglion is pathalogical dilatation of the tendon sheath surrounding the bending and stretching tendon, mainly as a consequence of strenuos work. Most often on the palm or back surface of the wrist or under the kneejoint takes place. It causes pain because of the tension of the wall or the pressure of the surrounding nerves.
We do the ganglion surgery in local anaesthesia.

CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROMA

CarpalTunnelCarpal tunnel syndroma is a nerve ompression in the area of the wrist. If the symptoms are more serios or they do not improve we we have to liberate the tunnel surgically.

DIGITUS SALTANS (SNAPPING FINGER)

d.saltA knot at the stump of the finger which snaps when the patient bends his/her finger. In every day language it is a snapping finger which concerns the tendon sheath ring surrounding them. The snapping finger comes into being when a thickening, a knot develops along the tendon. The aim of treatment is to stop the congestion and to restore the whole extent of the fingers. Anaesthesia can be local, general or regional.

DUPUYTREN CONTRACTURA

dupIt means the shrinkage of the tendinous lamina of the palm. Thes alteration causes only aesthetic problems at the beginning but later it makes impossible to extend one or several fingers’ as the fingers and the palm’s skin shrinks. The solution is the operation which may consist of repeated, corretional operations in more serious cases.

SCARS CAUSING LIMITATION OF MOTION

It occurs mostly on fingers after an accident. The wrong healing of the fingers causes their thickening – more often on the hands than on other parts of the body. Then the aim is to change the direction of the scars which can be solved by applying Z-plasty.
